Pictures of his’ baby crib have Alan over it. If you happen to check out his drum performances, Eddie Stix has become his stage name. Alan earned his real estate licensed in October of 1998. This was two years after graduating from the University of Utah in Mass Communication. During his studies at the U, he played drums about every weekend in Park City. During a career development class, the test results indicated Alan should go into the funeral business or real estate. Working as a Real Estate Broker/Agent is such a great job for him. Alan’s first real estate broker was his uncle; Dean was kind enough to let Alan join his personally owned and operated brokerage. Dean lived in Saint George and Alan in the Salt Lake area and was the only agent. Dean gave Alan the advice to put an ad in the paper that read: “Big Discounts, Bid on HUD Homes”. That month Alan was representing two buyers purchasing HUD homes and learned by the school of hard-knocks about HUD homes, the unique HUD Home contracts and closings. Alan showed great integrity from the get-go and represented two happy new home owners. Other real estate experience was gained in the area of buying, fixing and selling investment properties. Also: vacant land, new construction and residential home sales. Alan received his broker’s license in 2005 starting his own company Home Real Estate and Investment Utah. Around this same period Alan gained some insight into the bigger brokerages and their operations while working in advertising sales with the Newspaper Agency Corporation and launching the web site Utah Realty Guide. During his stay in this sales and marketing job, Alan worked with clients such as: Prudential, Coldwell Banker, Hamlet Homes, and other brokerages and builders. Currently “Eddie Stix” is playing drums for various recording projects and preparing for auditions and other gigs. He also claims that his employment as racquetball coordinator with Alta Canyon Sports Center is a good marketing tool for real estate. Alan and Heather have been married for over 22 years and love their three children Caleb, Kailey and Chadley. Heather has been teaching at Challenger School for over 12 years and is now with the kindergarteners.
